Our Responsibilities
As a Coalition, we do the following:
• Identify local service gaps and build collaborative projects to address these needs
• Manage the local Coordinated Entry System
• Educate the community about homelessness
• Conduct the federally mandated Point In Time Count
• Build support for housing & support agencies
• Host Project Homeless Connect events
• Develop, implement, and continually re-assess long-term strategic planning to eliminate homelessness in Fairbanks
• Advocate for fiscally and socially responsible legislation related to housing in Alaska

Fairbanks is a wonderful place live and raise a family, but what the pictures above don't show is the relatively hidden homeless community members.

On the night of January 23, 2018 there were 122 people in the emergency shelters in Fairbanks. There were 48 more people staying in transitional housing. There were unknown numbers of people seeking temporary shelter with friends and family. There were also at least 48 people left utterly unsheltered. It was 30 degrees below zero that night.
